Universal Republic Newcomer K’Jon Hits #1 At Urban AC Radio

Universal Republic newcomer K’Jon has scored the #1 single at Urban AC Radio this week with his smash hit “On The Ocean.” The sizzling song, which originally ignited the Chicago clubs for months as a popular ‘steppers’ hit, is also the #1 Greatest Gainer at both the Mediabase and BDS charts.

K’Jon has drawn comparisons to repeat hit makers such as Ne-Yo and Robin Thicke, and is currently putting the finishing touches on his much anticipated album, I GET AROUND, scheduled to hit stores and online platforms August 4, 2009.

The prolific R&B star finds himself with one of the most played urban records of the year. No stranger to previous scorching collaborative successes, the singer/songwriter has worked with Grammy winning star Ludacris, super-producers Cool & Dre and others.

K’Jon, a Detroit, Michigan native, cut his chops grooming local artists as a producer and songwriter, eventually releasing two indie solo projects while being sought by other stars to booster their offerings, including K’Jon’s appearance on a hit song from the standout 2 Fast 2 Furious Soundtrack.
